Khemo was bought as a replacement stallion in 1992 after the tragic death of HF Difda. We had hopes of creating a complimentary nick with our HF Difda mares. This proved to be very successful. Khemo has become indispensable to our breeding program.

After breaking Khemo in to saddle in 1993, he was ridden lightly. Due to his size, 14.1hh and only 370kg, he was never seriously considered as an endurance prospect. But he proved otherwise. In his first start, after only five weeks training, he was 6th Heavyweight in 6h 55m with recoveries of 40 and 44 BPM. Six months later he was recruited again, on shorter notice, to achieve 6th Heavyweight from 24 starters in a time of 6h 42m and recoveries of 46 and 52 BPM.

Khemo is a real character to deal with. He is kind and gentle, terminally inquisitive and at times a contortionist. His progeny are friendly, easy to teach and become much favoured partners to those fortunate enough to purchase them.
