VALE HF ILLA KALIL
The horrendous fire storm that devastated Canberra on 18 January 2003 unfortuneately also touched us here at Henley Farm. HF Illa Kalil (HF Azzab (exp) x HF Akahdot) was one of the 30 horses that died in the fire.
He had been sold five years ago and had enjoyed some trail riding and the occasional endurance ride.
§ January 2003
HF AZZAB (EXP)

HF Medid (HF Azzab (exp) x HF Kumaree) is currently flying the flag for us here. In September 2002 he was 3rd Middleweight at Coolamon 80km Endurance Ride. At the Headless Horseman 120km he was then 6th Middleweight in the same month.
At Binya 80km in November 2002 he changed divisions to become 1st Heavyweight.
Then at the Riverina Zone 160km Championships he was again 3rd Middleweight.
§ March/April 2002
HF KIBAAL
HF Kibaal (HF Azzab (exp) x HF Kumaree) exited his endurance novice status at Hay's 85km Cedar Grove Gallop on 24 March 2002 in fine style. He was equal 2nd Heavyweight with his stable mate HF Nafa (Luminous Night (UK) x HF Akahdot) in 5h 08m. To make up the trifecta, HF Kibaal's full brother HF Medid was 4th Heavyweight.
Five weeks later HF Kibaal backed up this performance with a 3rd Heavyweight at Gundagai 80km Endurance Ride on 28 April 2002. There were 24 heavyweights from a total of 91 starters and HF Kibaal was 4th across the line in the time 4h 48m. HF Kibaal will now enjoy a few months off.

VALE HF AKAHDOT
'Dot' died on 5 April 2002 at the age of 27 years. She produced 14 foals of which 4 still reside here. Dot has the unique honour of being the only horse who has lived on all three Henley Farm sites, Ebenezer, Tumut and here at Tumblong.
She made history with her birth in October 1974 as she and her twin sister 'Dash' became the first set of arabian twins to survive in Australia. Dot and Dash were so named for all the panic buttons, SOS's and the star and blaze that each sported.
We will sorely miss her presence around the farm. Her calm acceptance and even her silly seasons had become part of the basic fabric of Henley Farm.

VALE HF RAFFYK
It was with immense sadness that HF Raffyk (HF Difda x HF Khadie) was put down on the 9th March 2002. He was found in his paddock with a broken humorous. Up until this discovery he had been hale and hearty, having only been ridden the day before.
§ September 2001
HF KIFALI & HF KHABIS
HF Kifali and HF Khabis were both exported to the Royal Stables of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in September 2001. HF Kifali (Khemo Royalty x HF Khiffee) had completed her first 80km Endurance Ride at Gundagai in April 2001.
HF Khabis (HF Azzab(exp) x HF Musharraf) had completed a 40km training ride but had not yet attempted 80km when he was sold.

HF RAFFYK
Who said you can't teach an old horse new tricks. HF Raffyk (HF Difda x HF Khadie) and Annette Brumby successfully completed Gundagai 80km Endurance Ride on 29 April 2001. This was HF Raffyk's first attempt at the age of 17 years. Annette had purchased him in 1999 after HF Raffyk had spent a lifetime in the show ring and as a pony club mount.
